Your files. Your business.
Most available PDF tools process documents in your browser. Paired scanning transfers photos through temporary cloud storage, and webpage conversion processes public URLs on our server. Saving to your account is a separate upload to cloud storage. This page describes both workflows and their current limits.
What the available tools do
Selected files are read locally, and PDF operations run in a dedicated browser worker. The application creates a temporary local link for the result, which you can use to download a new PDF. Your source is not overwritten. Close the workspace to clear its file references, stop its workers, and revoke the generated result link. Your browser controls when memory is reclaimed; this is not a secure-erase guarantee. Downloads remain on your device.
Webpage conversion
HTML to PDF reads the public URL you enter on our server. Rendered mode loads public page resources and scripts in a separate conversion browser, without your personal login cookies. Readable mode extracts text and builds a simpler PDF locally. Private network addresses are blocked. An access challenge or login requirement cannot be bypassed by this tool. The generated PDF can be downloaded or explicitly saved to your account.
Phone-to-desktop scanning
Connecting a phone creates an expiring pairing link. Photos are uploaded to temporary database storage and retrieved by the desktop using a separate private token. Received photos are removed after desktop acknowledgment. Sessions expire after twenty minutes; expired records are purged on subsequent scan API activity. Provider backups may follow their own retention policy. Anyone holding the phone link can send photos to that session, so keep it private. Close the workspace to end pairing.
What this site stores
When you explicitly save a document, signature, contact, or workflow, its contents and name are stored in the account database provided by Neon. Clerk manages account identity, email verification, Google sign-in, and sessions. Saved PDFs are currently limited to 2 MB each, with a 50 MB workspace allowance. Removing an item deletes its active account record; provider backups and retention may remain subject to provider policies. Local device copies are separate. Do not save a document unless you intend to upload it to this account service.
Practical file limits
Available jobs accept up to 20 files and 50 MB combined. Rendered conversions are limited to 150 pages and an additional pixel budget; other page tools support up to 500 pages. Single-document tools work on one PDF. Most tools accept unencrypted PDFs; Unlock PDF accepts a protected document with its known password. Images to PDF accepts valid JPG and PNG images. A document’s complexity and your device’s available memory can affect processing even within these limits. Use a current browser with module-worker support.
Planned services and security claims
OCR, local extractive summaries, supported-browser translation, scan cleanup and best-effort PDF structure rebuilding are now available. Office rendering still requires deploying the prepared self-hosted conversion service. Available Word and Excel exports extract selectable text; PowerPoint exports image-based slides. Compression and redaction rebuild pages as images. Password operations use a local QPDF engine. Cloud import integrations and a desktop installer are not available. We do not claim ISO 27001 certification or independently verified regulatory compliance. Stripe billing is configured only in a sandbox; Premium checkout is available in sandbox test mode at £5/month; real charges are not enabled.
Keep and review your originals
Any document editing can affect existing digital signatures or interactive features. Keep the source and inspect the downloaded copy before sharing it. The signature tool adds a typed or drawn visual mark. In-app signature requests record the sender, intended recipient, status, and completion time, but do not provide certificate-backed signing or a certified signing audit trail. Redaction explicitly rebuilds page images with marked pixels removed; it does not copy original document text or metadata. Review every redacted output before sharing.
Sharing and signature requests
Granting viewer or editor access makes a saved file available to the specified verified email when that person signs in. A viewer can read and download; an editor can save changes. Revoking access prevents future account access but cannot retract copies already downloaded. In-app signature requests make a document available to the intended recipient’s verified email. Requests are not emailed in this release. Only share documents you are authorized to disclose.
Useful next steps
Read a tool’s instructions and availability before selecting a file. For sensitive material, also consider the security of the device and browser you are using and the destination where you will share the result. Our local processing guide explains the workflow in more detail.
